A history of excellence

As one of Sydney’s premier A-Grade brass bands, the Holroyd Brass Band is defined by a commitment to musical excellence, dynamic performances, and active community leadership.

Today, the band delivers a robust annual calendar of performances. Our concert series showcases the finest original repertoire written for brass bands by local and international composers, frequently featuring outstanding local musicians as guest soloists. Beyond the concert stage, Holroyd Brass remains a fiercely competitive A-Grade contesting band, regularly testing our technical and artistic limits at State and National championships.

We view music as a vital community service. The band proudly upholds its civic duties by providing musical support for local ANZAC Day services and community marches. We are equally dedicated to the future of the brass movement, running targeted educational programs and youth workshops to train and inspire the next generation of players.

Founded in 1972 for the Centenary Year of the City of Holroyd Council, the band has grown from a small 20-piece ensemble into a powerhouse of over 35 musicians. Our ranks are diverse, featuring everyone from dedicated community members and talented students to professional musicians and music educators. Whether in the rehearsal room, on the march, or on the contest stage, Holroyd Brass is a community united by a shared pursuit of brilliant brass music.
